The Modern Milan Skylines Photo Tour starts at Stazione Centrale ferroviaria di Milano (Railways Central Station).
Starting Point: Piazza Duca D’Aosta – Milano
Underground Stop = Fermata Metropolitana = M2 + M3 = Centrale FS
This tour will bring you to see and photograph how the concept of “modern architecture” in Milan has evolved profoundly.
Central Station was build in 1931 during the fascist period, and is now the second most important italian railway station, after Rome. Inside we find traces of the fascist period, along with the most modern Frecciarossa 300 Km/h trains.
The tour continues outside with the Pirelli Tower (127.10 m height – Year 1960), who was at that time the tallest skyscraper in Europe.
Along Via Galvani, at short distance, in Piazza di Città di Lombardia stands the Palazzo Lombardia (161.3 m Height – Year 2010), seat of the regional government.
Then we will visit the spectacular skyline of Porta Nuova with its futuristic glass buildings.
Then we will walk up to the Public Gardens Indro Montanelli (former public gardens of Porta Venezia), a large park opened in 1784. This allows us to use the opportunity to see Milan and its mix of modern architecture with the classic architecture, such as the seventeenth century Palazzo Dugnani inside the park itself.
The Modern Milan Skylines Photo Tour ends at the monumental Porta Venezia.
Underground Stop = Fermata Metropolitana = M1 = Porta Venezia
End of the Tour about h. 13.00 (01.00 PM)
